This listing is for "Meat Pie", Benny's 4-H steer. Benny is our son. Benny raised Meat Pie's mother, Cream Pie, as a bottle heifer calf several years ago. Meat Pie was Cream Pie's first calf. Benny raised Meat Pie as a 4-H steer, but unfortunately, he did not weigh enough at the time of the fair for Benny to sell him at the fair. He has named them all himself. Benny fed Meat Pie "steer finisher" grain from the local elevator which probably included GMO corn and soy. Meat Pie ate this grain for approximately 4.5 months. Meat Pie is now back on pasture with our herd, where he is growing bigger on grass only.  The steers in our herd are grass-fed and grass finished and never eat grain. Meat Pie is Benny's 4-H steer and did eat that grain. We are fully disclosing this and I can answer any questions that you might have about this.  Now that Meat Pie is bigger, Benny would like to sell him for meat. We told him we would put him on our website and here Meat Pie is.  The steer is $7.95 per pound, sold by the hanging weight and including processing.  For a half, order two split halves. For a whole, order four split halves. Benny will include the cost of processing in his price, so you will not be charged by the butcher. Benny will pay the butcher directly. We can deliver to most areas of the Colorado Springs and metro Denver if you can be flexible on the date and time of delivery. Benny isn't old enough to drive, but we will help him out with this.  The deposit is non-refundable. It is only a deposit. We anticipate the total cost of all of Meat Pie to be about $4200-$5500, depending on his hanging weight at processing.
