This listing is for "Turkey", a grown bottle steer. Our son Michael did most of the bottle feeding of Turkey as his 4-H project two years ago. We retained possession of him. Turkey was a twin born on our farm. His mother abandoned him. We do not give our steers or cows grain, however, Turkey had Starter Creep during the first four months of his life. Starter Creep is a commercially available nutritionally balanced feed for calf steers that contains GMO corn and soy. Turkey was also bottle fed for the first four months of his life. We made his bottles with commercially available milk replacer. For the past two years, Turkey has been on our pasture with the rest of our herd. He has not had grain or anything different than our main herd. Turkey is going to the butcher on November 8th. Please note that the steers in our herd are grass-fed and grass finished and never eat grain. Turkey was a bottle calf and a 4-H project and did eat that grain. We are fully disclosing this and I can answer any questions that you might have about this. Now that Turkey is bigger, we would like to sell him for meat. The steer is $7.95 per pound, sold by the hanging weight and including processing. For a half, order two split halves. For a whole, order four split halves. We will pay the butcher directly. We can deliver to most areas of the Colorado Springs and metro Denver if you can be flexible on the date and time of delivery. The deposit is non-refundable. It is only a deposit. We anticipate the total cost of all of Turkey to be about $4200-$5500, depending on his hanging weight at processing.
